WITCH

Anouk has been a professional photographer since 2009 and specialises in the photography of women and sisterhood under the name of 'Goddess Photography'. The project of WITCH was sparked by the movement that wants to erect a Dutch National Monument to remember the 'witches' who's lives were lost during the witch hunts in the Netherlands. In order to tell the story of the (mostly) women who were charged and killed as witches, in the week before the remembrance them on June 3rd 2023, well over sixty women stepped into their shoes. This book is the testament of their stories. Of the women who were persecuted as witches, but also of those are in the footsteps of the women who did not get to be as free as we are now. It tells the story of the innocence, the free woman, the persecution, the consequences and the regained freedom that we have now, as witches. For every book sold there will be a donation made to the 'Nationaal Heksenmonument', in order to make it a physical monument.
