Synopsis
How can we break the cycle of addiction in a deeply unequal world lacking in opportunity?
About Andy Moir
Andy Moir is a musician who has spent his whole life in Reading. He only leaves Berkshire if he absolutely has to. He has spent his whole adult life either on drugs or working in health and social care, mostly trying to support people who are on drugs. He is fascinated by drugs, drug culture and social policy around drugs. He is also heavily interested in health and wealth inequality, which tend to go hand in hand with addiction.
Andy has played guitar in a few bands, but mostly works on solo projects, since he's too lazy to practice or maintain good enough friendships as he gets older to keep a band together. He is also easily distracted looking after his three daughters.
He began writing in 2018 in an art group run by students at the drug service he was working for at the time. He has written a few mostly poor and unpublished books during this time. But he once heard that he would have to write a million words before he wrote anything good, so on he continues in the hope that his tenth novel might be worth reading. Word of warning, this isn't yet the tenth novel.
